Antihistamines
and allergic skin diseases:
Newer antihistamines do not penetrate the CNS and thus are
free of inconvenient sedative side-effects, enabling patients
to be mentally alert while taking treatment. Alce has all
these attributes but it goes a step further with its anti-allergic
properties.
Urticaria:
Alce significantly reduces the severity of physical urticaria.
As well as being effective in chronic urticaria, it is potent
in treating cold urticaria, and is effective in alleviating
delayed-pressure urticaria (perhaps the most difficult urticaria
to treat).
Alce has the ability to modulate the allergic reaction which
is so closely involved with eosinophil. Unlike other antihistamines,
Alce has the unique ability to inhibit eosinophil infiltration.
Studies in allergic and delayed pressure urticaria patients
show that Alce reduces eosinophil infiltration in response
to an allergen.
Antihistamines are the main therapeutic agents that are used
in urticaria and angioedema.
A remarkable reduction in dermatographism and the urticarial
response to cold is achieved by treatment with Alce.
Alce is the drug of choice in chronic urticaria.
